MedPAC May Offer Guidance To CMS On Handling Physician Supervision

Congress' Medicare advisers may suggest CMS use clinical judgment regarding beneficiary safety when deciding how to handle physician supervision requirements in critical access hospitals, and some advisers would like the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission to look into how telemedicine could fit in with the supervision requirements. Commissioners on Friday (Sept. 8) discussed including the guidance in their upcoming December report to Congress.
