MedPAC Considers Recommending Dialysis Pay Hike, Cuts to Hospice, Long Term Care Hospitals

Congressional Medicare advisers said Friday (Dec. 9) they expect to vote in favor of draft recommendations next month to increase pay for dialysis treatment in 2018, but commissioners said they plan to monitor potential overuse of dialysis. The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission members said they also expected to vote against a 1 percent pay increase for hospice and long-term care hospitals when commissioners take up those draft recommendations in January.
