The medical device tax would be permanently repealed in House GOP leaders' plan to overhaul the Affordable Care Act. The 2.3 percent medical device excise tax was suspended by Congress for 2016 and 2017, and the legislative plan unveiled Monday (March 6) would permanently repeal the tax starting Jan. 1, 2018.
