MACs Still Await Telehealth Pay Guidance, CMS Only Issuing ‘Mission Critical’ Communication

CMS has yet to release temporary guidance to private Medicare administrators (MACs) updating payment codes to bill for telehealth services extended through March under the 2024 year-end package, causing confusion and panic among stakeholders who fear the guidance may be further delayed under the Trump administration’s two-week health communication freeze.
