Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker (R) on Friday (Sept. 8) wrote to HHS Secretary Tom Price and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnunchin asking them to use existing authority to exempt Massachusetts from the Affordable Care Act's employer mandate as the state seeks CMS approval for a new plan that imposes an alternative mandate as part of a bid to get Medicaid costs under control.
