Judge Dismisses FL Continuous Coverage Lawsuit, Cites Lack Of Subject-Matter Jurisdiction

A federal district court dismissed Friday (May 31) on grounds that it doesn't have subject-matter jurisdiction Florida's case demanding the Sunshine State be exempt from the new 12-month continuous coverage requirement for children that went into effect Jan. 1 so it can drop kids whose families don’t pay the monthly premium. Meanwhile, advocates are cheering the decision, though they say Florida moved forward with its plan while the case was pending and dropped 22,000 children whose families do not pay...
