House's Temporary Govt. Funding Bill Includes CHIP Measure, But No New CHIP Funding

The House is scheduled to vote this week on a temporary government-funding bill that would allow CMS to give states in greatest need of CHIP funding a disproportionate share of leftover money from 2016 grants. However, the bill does not include the five-year extension of funding that children's advocates have lobbied lawmakers to include in the continuing resolution. The federal government stopped funding CHIP Sept. 30, and states have been getting by with their own leftover funding from fiscal 2017...
