House Relief Bill Contains Carve-Out Allowing New York To Cut Medicaid

The Democrats’ new coronavirus relief legislation would allow New York to receive enhanced federal Medicaid funds even as it reduces its state Medicaid spending by billions of dollars -- an option not available to any other state. The special provision for New York, which was requested by Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), is tucked into the final page of the 1,815-page bill.
