House Passes $3.45B FDA Funding Bill With CBD, Plant-Milk Amendments

The House on Thursday (July 29) passed 219-208 an FDA spending package that would give the agency $3.45 billion for fiscal 2022, an 8% funding increase over fiscal 2021 levels. The bill, passed as part of a seven-bill minibus appropriations package (H.R. 4502), includes amendments that give the FDA’s veterinary center an extra $5 million and ask the agency to issue guidance on use of CBD in foods and supplements and clarify labeling for plant-based milk.
