House E&C Committee To Mark Up McMorris Rodgers Menu Labeling Bill

The House Energy & Commerce Committee will mark up Thursday (July 27) a bill sponsored by Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) to loosen menu labeling requirements for certain food establishments and limit liability for noncompliance with labeling requirements. The move comes on the heels of both E&C Republicans and industry groups pushing for preemption of New York City's attempt at enacting a more stringent standard than that being pursued by FDA.
