House Committees Seek Details On Enhanced Direct Enrollment

Democratic leaders of key House committees ask CMS to provide by June 18 more details on its enhanced direct enrollment process that lets consumers sign up for an exchange plan via a third party without going through the marketplace. The administration implemented the enrollment pathway last fall, and as of April 5 had approved a number of individual issuers and two web-broker entities -- HealthSherpa and StrideHealth -- to conduct the process .
