House Appropriators Propose $3.65B For FDA In Fiscal 2023

House appropriators on Tuesday (June 14) introduced draft legislation that would give FDA $3.65 billion in discretionary funding for fiscal 2023, an increase of $341 million above fiscal 2022 levels and close to FDA’s $3.7 billion request. The Appropriations FDA-agriculture subcommittee will mark up the bill Wednesday (June 15). The bill provides a targeted increase of $64 million for the opioid crisis, medical supply chain surveillance, drug safety surveillance and oversight, and to strengthen in-person inspections of foreign drug manufacturers...
