Hospitals, Insurers To Ban Surprise Bills For COVID-19 Care

The hospitals and insurance companies wrapped up in the surprise billing debate on Capitol Hill say they will ban surprise, out-of-network bills for care related to coronavirus. The House-passed coronavirus stimulus bill (H.R. 6201) would cover the cost of COVID-19 testing and the associated doctor visits for the privately insured and people covered by public insurance such as Medicare, Medicaid and CHIP -- but the bill would not cover all associated care.
