Hospital-Backed Study Finds $218B In Cumulative Cuts From 2010-2028

A hospital-backed study found that from 2010 to 2028 hospitals are set to see $218.2 billion in federal pay cuts -- including cuts to post-acute care owned by the hospitals and long-term care hospitals. The pay reductions are the result of 11 laws and regulatory changes from CMS, with the biggest reductions coming from documentation and coding cuts, amounting to $79.3 billion, and sequestration cuts, totaling $73.1 billion over that time.
