Hospitals, clinics and other providers subject to Section 1557 must meet federal requirements around providing patients free interpretation services by July 5, 2025, HHS’ Office of Civil Rights said Thursday (Dec. 5) in a letter, which also directed providers using artificial intelligence to translate communications into different languages to have qualified interpreters review them for accuracy as soon as possible.
