HHS Releases Proposed Interoperability, Health Data Rule

HHS’ Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology Wednesday (July 10) released a proposed rule that would advance interoperability among providers, patients and payers. The rule comes as providers and patients consistently cite interoperability challenges hindering quality medical care. The Health Data, Technology, and Interoperability: Patient Engagement, Information Sharing, and Public Health Interoperability (HTI-2) proposed rule would improve public health response and advance delivery of value-based care, according to the agency.
