HHS Lays Out Transparency Requirements For Broker Compensation

HHS, the Office of Personnel Management, Treasury Department, and Department of Labor recently proposed that issuers of individual health insurance coverage and short-term limited duration insurance plans be required to inform potential enrollees how much compensation brokers receive for setting up their enrollment, though the proposed rule says such information should only be included prior to enrollees signing up for plans and in confirmation and renewal forms, rather than in all documentation.
