HHS IG: Part D Spending Rose 77 Percent In Five Years Despite 17 Percent Drop In Prescriptions

Total Part D reimbursement for brand-name drugs increased 77 percent from 2011 to 2015, even though seniors filled 17 percent fewer prescriptions over the same period, according to the HHS Office of Inspector General.
