HHS Calls For National Health AI Guidelines, Industry Sandbox In New Strategic Plan

HHS published a long-awaited Artificial Intelligence Strategic Plan on Friday (Jan. 10) that calls for sharing national health AI-specific guidelines, creating sandboxes for industry collaboration, evaluating “approaches to bolster AI quality assurance in medical products,” and improving health sector cybersecurity to promote the safe, responsible and effective use of AI in health care.
