Griffith Takes Helm Of E&C Health Panel With Continued Focus On Rural Health, Medicaid Reforms

Rep. Morgan Griffith (R‑VA), tapped to succeed Rep. Buddy Carter (R‑GA) as chair of the House Energy & Commerce health subcommittee, is expected to focus on rural health care access, loosening restrictions on physician-owned hospitals and maintaining oversight of federal health programs, while also while continuing to push Republicans’ agenda on Medicaid reforms that Democrats assert would lead some rural hospitals to shutter.
