GOP Rejects Dem Bid To Exempt FDA From Bill Axing ‘Chevron’ Deference

The House is slated to vote this week on two bills aimed at ratcheting back federal agencies’ flexibility to interpret laws, including one that would overturn the Supreme Court’s “ Chevron deference” doctrine that courts should defer to reasonable agency interpretations. On that bill, Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee rejected a bid from Democrats to exempt FDA’s regulatory decisions.
