Founding Director Of CMS’ Duals Office Chosen As New MACPAC Chair

Melanie Bella, the founding director of the Medicare-Medicaid Coordination Office at CMS, was named on Monday (May 20) as the new chair of the congressional Medicaid advisory commission, and two new members -- health care lawyer Tom Barker and Georgetown University professor Tricia Brooks -- were appointed to the commission. The 17 members of the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission serve for staggered three-year terms and are appointed by the U.S. comptroller general. Barker and Brooks replace MACPAC...
