Following California State Legislation, FDA Finalizes BVO Ban

FDA is finalizing its ban on brominated vegetable oil (BVO) in food products, the agency announced, setting a compliance date of August 2025 for producers to stop using the chemical nationwide and following the example of California, which passed a ban on BVO in food products last year. The change will be effective as of Aug. 2; the compliance date will be one year later, FDA said, to allow for companies to reformulate, relabel and deplete their inventory of products...
