FDA Proposes 13 New Warnings To Be Added To Cigarette Packages, Ads

FDA on Thursday (Aug. 15) published a proposed rule that will require color graphics depicting the negative health consequences of smoking be added to cigarette packages and in cigarette advertisements. A recent lawsuit from public health and anti-smoking advocates called for FDA to issue the proposal, which identifies 13 health warnings that depict the lesser-known risks of smoking using both text and photorealistic images.
