FDA Eyes New Administration Method For Monkeypox Vax To Boost Supply

FDA is mulling a new administration method for the two-dose Jynneos monkeypox vaccine that could substantially increase vaccine supply in the United States, FDA Commissioner Robert Califf says, coming as HHS declares a public health emergency in response to the monkeypox outbreak. The new administration method would allow for a smaller dose of Jynneos -- about one-fifth of the current dosing size -- to be injected intradermally (between the skin) instead of subcutaneously (underneath the skin).
