Affordable Care Act plans may have been a bright spot for many large, publicly traded health insurers that faced challenges in their Medicaid businesses in the second quarter, says one insurance analyst tracking the second quarter earnings calls, but the future in that space is still clouded by uncertainty over whether the enhanced tax credits that spurred higher enrollment will remain -- a policy which could rely on the outcome of the election.
