E&C Lawmakers Say Time To Permanently Repeal Therapy Caps

House Energy & Commerce lawmakers said they’d like to overhaul the system for reimbursing physical therapy, instead of continually extending exceptions to the caps on Medicare pay for those services. The program for allowing therapy caps exceptions expires at the end of this year, and it’s the largest of the so-called Medicare extenders that providers are lobbying to include in the reauthorization of funding for the separate Children’s Health Insurance Program.
