Early CDC Data Show Uninsurance Rate Dipped In 2020

Preliminary data from the CDC’s National Health Interview Survey show the number of uninsured Americans of all ages dipped slightly from 33.2 million in 2019 to 31.6 million in 2020. The early data also show that about 10.1 million Americans had exchange coverage during 2020, and the data also highlight differences in insurance rates for children and adults based on whether the state in which they live expanded Medicaid.
