Disaster Bill's Lack Of Puerto Rico Medicaid Hike Bodes Ill For Dems' CHIP Vote

The House appropriations bill to aid hurricane and wildfire responses does not include Puerto Rico's request for extra Medicaid funding, which may be a sticking point for getting House Democrats to vote for legislation that funds the Children's Health Insurance Program another five years. Separately, Republicans briefly delayed a floor vote on CHIP legislation to try to work out a compromise with Democrats on CHIP offsets, but it isn't clear how those negotiations are going or whether the Puerto Rico...
