A group of Senate Democrats is pushing to authorize a special enrollment period (SEP) in the Affordable Care Act marketplaces and group plans -- including for federal employees -- that would let people sign up for or change coverage when they become pregnant. The Healthy Maternal and Obstetric Medicine (Healthy MOM) Act, introduced Nov. 18, also would guarantee a year of postpartum Medicaid coverage.
