D.C. Circuit Invalidates Arkansas’ Medicaid Work Requirements

A federal appeals court on Friday (Feb. 14) ruled that work requirements do not advance the purpose of Medicaid, dealing another serious blow to one of the Trump administration’s signature health care policies. While Friday’s ruling technically applies only to Arkansas’ attempt to add work requirements to Medicaid, it is sure to set a powerful precedent for other states seeking to use 1115 waivers to adopt the controversial policy.
