CMS Wants More Info On Ownership Shifts At Accrediting Organizations

CMS released a proposed rule Tuesday (April 30) that would require Medicare accrediting organizations to notify CMS if they are considering a change in ownership. CMS needs to know in advance of a potential ownership change in order to assess whether the new owner of an accrediting organization is able to perform the required accreditation tasks, the agency said.
