CMS To Streamline Quality Measures, Refocus Reporting On Outcomes

CMS Administrator Seema Verma on Monday (Oct. 30) said CMS is revising quality measures across all programs and will move away from process measures as part of the agency's Meaningful Measures initiative. In a speech at a Health Care Payment Learning and Action Network summit, Verma said inpatient hospitals report up to 61 quality measures across CMS programs, and some family doctors must report nearly 30 measures to as many as seven payers.
