CMS ‘Snapshot’ Virus Reporting Option Aims To Reduce Hospital Burden

CMS has finalized guidelines requiring all Medicare and Medicaid-participating hospitals to report data on respiratory illnesses such as COVID-19, influenza, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), offering the option to submit daily data each week or use a "snapshot" model that collects data from one specific day of the week along with weekly totals for new admissions.
