CMS Shifting Gears To Focus On Coding To Ensure Cost-Free Preventive Coverage

A key CMS official says many of the problems with insurers failing to cover preventive services cost-free as required under the Affordable Care Act are due to operational issues, and so the agency is retooling its compliance strategy to focus on creating and promoting common coding and standards.
