CMS reversed its plan to suppress several data measures on hospital-acquired conditions in its hospital inpatient prospective payment system final rule, drawing praise from the health care watchdog Leapfrog Group, which had blasted the earlier plan in light of data showing over 25,000 people died in 2021 from hospital acquired conditions.
