CMS’ revival of the COVID-19, influenza and RSV data reporting condition of participation (CoP) starting Nov. 1 is “heavy-handed" and inconsistent with the core purpose of CoPs, the American Hospital Association says -- though the agency’s decision has generally been welcomed by public health advocates, some of whom criticized CMS for allowing the lapse in reporting to occur in the first place.
