CMS To Recalculate Pass-Through Funding For Reinsurance Programs

CMS confirms it will recalculate the federal pass-through funding available to states administering reinsurance programs under an ACA Section 1332 waiver to account for the changes expected due to increased tax credits under the American Rescue Plan and the new special enrollment period. Several states had requested the administration re-do the pass-through funding that states collect because the reinsurance programs reduce federal spending on Affordable Care Act subsidies.
