CMS Proposes Pay Increase For Inpatient Rehab Facilities

CMS proposes to increase inpatient rehabilitation facilities' fiscal year 2022 pay by 1.8%, or $160 million, relative to last year's payments, and to advance the Biden administration’s focus on health equity. Rehab facilities received a 2.4% pay bump under the final fiscal 2021 IRF prospective pay rule , although CMS had initially proposed a 2.9% payment increase.
