CMS Proposes To Boost ACOs With Advanced Pay, Benchmark Changes

CMS on Thursday (July 7) proposed in the 2023 physician fee schedule to jumpstart accountable care organization growth by allowing for advanced payments for certain low-volume ACOs, letting new and inexperienced ACOs stay in one-sided risk for five years and reworking benchmarks, among other policies.
