CMS Opens SEP For Consumers Who Enrolled In Non-ACA Compliant Salvasen Health Plans

CMS tells Inside Health Policy it has created a special enrollment period that will last through June 9 for consumers who purchased plans sold by Houston-based Salvasen Health that are not compliant with the Affordable Care Act despite being marketed as minimum essential coverage. The Texas Department of Insurance on Tuesday (April 26) demanded Salvasen, which does not have a license to sell insurance in Texas and other states, terminate all policies and cease operations.
