CMS: Improper Payment Rate Less Than 1%

The federally run heath exchange had an improper payment rate of less than 1% in the 2020 benefit year, CMS revealed Tuesday, which the first time the agency has reported such data for the Affordable Care Act’s advanced payment tax credits (APTCs). The agency attributed the low rate to the exchange’s automated eligibility determination and payment processes.
