CMS is dodging another showdown over Medicaid expansion and leaving the fate of expansion in Texas in the next administration's hands. The agency recently extended by 15 months a Texas 1115 Medicaid waiver that expands the state's reliance on managed care, instead of threatening to shut down Texas' uncompensated care pool for low income individuals if the state doesn't expand Medicaid, as the agency initially did with Florida last year.
