CMS To Expand Ambulance Prior Authorization After COVID-19

CMS plans to expand the non-emergency ambulance prior authorization demonstration across the country once the pandemic ends. In the meantime, the agency will continue the demonstration in states where it is already underway. The latest round of the demonstration, which is currently running in Delaware, Washington D.C., Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia, was set to run out Dec. 1.
