CMS Creates 'Proxy' Direct Enrollment Pathway For Web Brokers, Issuers

CMS Wednesday established a “proxy direct enrollment” pathway that will allow certified web-brokers and other entities, including issuers, in the 39 states using the FFM to enroll consumers without forcing them to check eligibility on HealthCare.gov, a move that web-broker and other sources see as a positive step toward utilizing existing resources to expand enrollment in the exchanges.
