CMS Clarifies Physician Referral Authority, Tightens Attestation Requirements In Proposed Hospice Rule

Hospices would see a 2.4% payment increase next year under CMS’ proposed fiscal year (FY) 2026 Hospice Rule, which also clarifies which physicians can recommend patients for hospice care and strengthens documentation requirements for face-to-face visits during recertification.
