CMS: Baby Boomers' Shift Into Medicare To Help Drive Spending Growth

CMS actuaries expect Medicare and Medicaid to see faster growth in spending between 2017 and 2026 than private insurance, in part because baby boomers will be aging out of the private insurance market and into Medicare and a higher share of older and disabled Medicaid beneficiaries will contribute to faster spending in that program.
