CMS Approves New Hampshire Reinsurance Waiver

CMS on Wednesday (Aug. 5) approved New Hampshire’s request for a five-year 1332 state innovation waiver to establish a reinsurance program that is expected to lower premiums by 16% and increase individual market enrollment by 6% in 2021. The traditional reinsurance program will partially reimburse ACA-compliant insurers for claims between $60,000 and $400,000.
