CDC Omits Pull Incentives From Antimicrobial Plan, Disappoints Industry

An official with the Biotechnology Innovation Organization said he’s disappointed that the federal government failed to discuss pull incentives for antimicrobial medicines in its recently released national plan to reduce antibiotic resistance. Though pull incentives are largely left out of the plan, the official noted he was pleased to see some targets for push incentives, including potential changes to CMS’ add-on payment system.
