CBO Projects Major Coverage Losses, High Cost-Sharing & Poorer Benefits, But Premiums Would Fall & Deficit Savings Up

Of the 22 million that the Congressional Budget Office estimated on Monday (June 26) would not be covered under the Senate's health care bill compared to current law, 15 million would no longer have health insurance by the next midterm elections in 2018, though CBO says nearly half of those 15 million would voluntarily forgo buying insurance in the absence of the individual mandate penalty.
